I'm surprised how few reviews mention the lens hood vignetting on the T* 18mm. Luckily I found one that did or would have assumed the lens or hood were fundamentally flawed. But instead it turns out just one of three possible ways to put it on results in no vignetting.

Surely that goes for all petal shaped hoods. Just align the dots to be sure it's on right (assuming it's not bloody obvious).

I've had a number of wide lenses, including the 15mm Zeiss, and none of them had this issue. AFAIK it's unique to the 18mm.
