Yes, and the edges are troublesome near 24mm on FF (yes, even at f/8-f/10) and it has a lot more distortion there than the new version and probably lots more LoCA (it certainly had more LoCa than the 24 1.4 II and lots more than the 24-70 II). I mean for the price it can be had for now, it's not bad at all considering the IS and the range and AF speed, but those are other matters.
To be fair I haven't tried the 24-70 f/4 IS, but from what I read I'd be shocked if it didn't look better near 24mm, which is a very critical focal length for many on FF.
