Hi, here are 2 images I made during my time driving from LA to SF. I stayed in Monterrey for a few days. It provides close access to some awesome scenery.
The first image is a classic shot from an overlook on Point Lobos. The second was made almost right next to US1 well south of the Hearst Castle IIRC.
The Marine layer was extremely persistent up north all week. There were glimpses of warmth at times but most times it was overcast and/or foggy. Even so, great images were there to be made.
The jpg conversions killed the files, oh well. Here is a slice of the first image at 100% showing the great detail the file has (without final sharpening)
That is a beautiful area of the coast you passed through. #1 is my favorite image, a very appealing composition. Perhaps a bit too cyan in it's WB, but still very nice. In #2, I like the way the scene was captured, it looks like you are on a bluff overlooking the ocean. Perhaps a bit more off the top? Getting a scene without it being overly busy from the wildflowers in it isn't easy, I think you did it in #2. But between the two shots, #1 really jumps out to me as the more dramatic scene.
Thx! The light on #1 was really cool/gray with the shadows quite green due to the foliage. For #2 I did get on a small area surrounded by steep drops. I was only about 2 ft off the ground. The wildflowers were already drying up. I think they must have peaked 1-2 weeks before I got there. In some areas with cooler weather they were still good though.
