Optyczne.pl

They had to change their previous testing procedure to quantify the lens.

WOW

Almost makes me want to get a DX camera just for it

Had the same thought, but slow autofocus kills it for me.

not me....i have a 17-55 2.8, which is already a stellar lens...the extra stop of light doesn't really do anything for me, and if i want the shallowest DOF possible (and low light ability), i have FX cameras for that...

To clarify, i already have some DX cameras..but this lens doesn't make me want to use them any more than i already don't...

You can adjust the auto focus speed using the sigma new microadjustment dock.

Sure you can, but you can't all of a sudden make it faster than it's capable of...i'm guessing it's set at the fastest setting from the factory....they're assuming not everyone will get the dock to go with the lens, so of course they're going to sell the lens with the fastest possible auto focus....you cant just set the auto focus to warp speed....doesn't work like that...

Looks like the focus speed is only adjustable on the sports lenses. That's to bad

I am actually not surprised with this stellar performance, Sigma has proven that it's taken it to the next level. They know what the market and professionals are looking for and acting upon it. For the tenth time, if this was called "Sägem Kunst Serie" then everyone would be hailing the best DX lens ever produced... I am still waiting on the inevitable bashing though

+1 . . . .

Also, don't forget video mode which crops the full FX image by a bit as well and may fit in this lens' image circle.

Sigma seems to be firing on all cylinders lately. Good for them. Nikon and Canon needs to step it up. Man these 'Zeiss' lookalikes are sexy.

Yeah, this lens is really making me itch for a replacement DX camera! .. . sold my D90, and haven't had an excuse to buy a DX body yet... D800 has ben good to me... but when we travel... then maybe.

Go Sigma! Way to step it up!

Will somebody retest it on FX so that I may know if it's worth craving for my Canon 1D Mark II N?
