The canyonlands of Owyhee County are a special place to me. I recently had the opportunity to revisit during Memorial Day weekend. Hicks Spring is a somewhat unusual area. A sea of sagebrush stretches for miles but a spring filled with aspen can found in this small area. The spring ultimately creates a waterfall that is pretty difficult to get to given the brush. The reward isn't quite worth it to see the waterfall but the canyons and overall scenery are always worth it to me. Here is are two shots of the area. Any and all C&C is very welcome.
#1 Hicks Spring Twilight. A used a 3-stop soft GND to balance the sky. I was drawn first to the indian paintbrush, though small.

#2 Hicks Spring Dawn. I wasn't up and waiting for the light at sunrise since I noticed clouds along the eastern horizon. The light was still soft enough and warm by the time I got out of the tent.
