p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · D800 and memory card problem

I just bought a new d800, I tried with my sd cards and they work great. I´m having trouble when I try too use the CF, I don´t now why but it takes a lot of time to recognize the memory card and after I take a picture it takes also a lot of time to show it ( around a minute)
Does anybody know what i´m doing wrong. It´s normal?
I use the 32 g from san disk and for the cf the kingston 8g.

Thanks

not sure but would suggest just trying a new different card, stick with sandisk..be inclined to believe it's the card over the camera but ......and format it of course.good .

Try a different CF card and also check to make sure all the pins are in place. Rarely they can be bent by a physically defective card.

what is the speed of the CF card? If it's a slower card then it's going to take time to load those huge files to view.

Sounds like the CF is dying. I've had TONS of problems with Kingston 8gb cards on my D300/700. I will never use Kingston again.

I have more than one, and I´m still having that problem with the CF, probably they´re too slow for the d800. I have enough sd cards so I´m not worry about it but I was used to have two slots on my d600.

Ignoring it does not solve the problem. If it is taking a full minute for a frame to write to the CF card, something is wrong. When you go to sell it, what will it cost you to fix the problem before you sell the camera?

If it happens with more than one card, it is likely the camera.

Do you have any CF cards that aren't Kingston?
