This being only my second engagement session, I would love to hear some constructive criticism.

Technically they are very good, looks like good exposure, shot with a good cam and some nice prime lenses, no problems there. The main improvement to take it up a notch is to focus on capturing more natural looking interaction. They look very directed, posed, stiff. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the input. Anybody have any good tips on how to make the couple feel more comfortable in order to achieve the more natural interaction? I tried to explain to them that I didn't want them to act any differently as they would on a daily basis but obviously that didn't work to well.

Good photos. I feel the dude with the Ford hat kinda ruined it for the pretty lady. Maybe s proud and built Ford Tough. He seemed stiff too. Maybe not used to taking pictures.

I don't see them posed. He looks naturally country boy (from MidWest) who I believe he is...

To ease stiffness, here's somethings I like to do:

- Keep a few one liner jokes in your back pocket

- Have one of them tell the other what they were thinking the first time they met...

- Give them something to think about: ie: remember that scene from <insert movie/book/tvshow>? Let's see if you can imitate that....

- Shoot from a distance, tell them you're just taking a few test shots to get the lighting right and that they should relax, you'll let them know when you're ready... it's amazing how at ease they can be when they're not trying to pose for you.

Just my 2 cents
