So I came across a website called "madeinchina" a couple days ago. I came across a distrubutor marked as "authentic / reliable" that sold camera gear. In their listings was the Canon 600 f4 IS. Minimum purchase quantity was listed as 1, but no price. I proceeded to contact the seller. In my message, i tried to sound as legit, and as naive, as possible - "Hello. I recently opened a camera shop here in the USA. As such, I would like to stock my store with premium equipment, as cheaply as possible. Your minimum purchase quantity of 1 for this product is the perfect opportunity for me to see the quality of equipment you offer. Could you please provide me with your price for this lens?"
The reply I received as unbelievable. First, the ad was false in regards of minimum purchase qty. The reply went as follows - "Thank you for taking interest in our products Mr. D. Our minimum purchase is three pieces, and you receive one free with every three you order. In regards to our price, the price is $650/USD ea. Again, thank you for your interest and we look forward to doing business with you."
Yeah, $650 for a what, $12,000 lens? Sounds legit to me! I cant afford 3, even at $650 ea.Anyone want to do a group buy? lmao!
Just thought some of you would get a laugh out of this.
