I'm not certain that I will upgrade.
I have ALWAYS *HATED* the catalog!
Make it where you don't HAVE to use a catalog, then I would like it a LOT better.
It's looking as though CS6 was the last thing I will ever purchase from Adobe.
No more Adobe products for me, EVER.
Good riddance, and good bye...

Does anyone have a problem with it being very slow to load the thumbnails when importing new images? They take forever to load. If I click on an image to preview the bigger version, it opens instantly. I can import the images without problems before the thumbnails finish loading, but then I'm not sure which images I'm loading.

It's not slower than the version 4. Probably faster IMO.
But I have problem with this known issue:
"Noise Reduction and Sharpening Not Visible on export
As mentioned here, a bug was introduced in Lightroom 5.0 where files exported at less than 1/3 of their original size may not retain Output Sharpening and Noise Reduction settings."

The problem I have come across is doing almost anything with the lens profile selected slows the pc to a crawl. If I don't have that selected I think 5 is just as fast as 4.

^^ I tend to agree. Overall it feels about the same speed as LR4, and is perhaps a little faster to load. Turning on lens profiles also slows down my machine.

It looks like a rainy weekend here, so i think i might do some LR performance testing to pass the time.
