Actually there is, the Nikon RT-1, selling for $169 US. $10 US more than the Kirk, and no built-in quick release plate.

Read it again...slowly. You'll notice the word "standard" in there. I'm very familiar with the options. Even wrote a blog post about it, though I didn't feel the need to start a new thread about it.

I don't think it is wrong to post links to your blog, especially when it is relevant. When I do, I generally try to give the gist of what I'm linking to so folks only go there if they think it will be of value. Sometimes I get lazy and post less detail, but it isn't to create clicks. Following happens or it doesn't. Anyway - apologies to the OP for pulling this off-topic.

Well, it all depends on whether one knows the meaning of "standard". Nothing to do with reading again or the reading speed, I am afraid. Standard means "used or accepted as normal" (Oxford english), so if you intend "standard option" as in "the manufacturer own option, the one used or accepted as normal", is the Nikon RT-1. If you intend a "non-standard" or "different", option, then you have the Kirk or RRS.

Standard as in "standard equipment" or "comes standard with"

I think most folks read "standard" that way, not "used or accepted as normal"

Good luck with your blog.
