The power went out this morning so we decided to take a drive. Here's a couple with the 70-300ED VR.

Thanks Ian and Georg;

Jay, loved your perfect timing for your last Picture;

Leighton, gorgeous landscapes, loved the B&W "grain".

Another "old" shot from 2009 with my ex D300 and the often maligned 80-400mm AF-D:

I keep forgetting to check this thread. I seem to stuck over in the MF thread. That said, you all are posting some terrific images here! Just to mention a few:

Leighton, love the barn scenes.

Chin, downtown Singapore is very nice. Sharp and nice colors.

Ian Boys, lovely model photos. Composed very nicely.

Jose, the birds are amazing. My favorite is the woodpecker.

Here is my contribution. Some architectural images I was taking and the lighting caught my eye in this composition. Taken with the Nikon 10-24.

Scott, love everything about it (save the dirty sensor)

A couple from my "campus series"... These were taken with the AF 75-300mm... Some people like it better than even the new VR offerings from a picture quality standpoint. What I know about it, properly mounted and used will give you tack sharp images, even at 300mm. (the campus wanted more warmth and vibrance in the images, I hope I didn't do too much)

@75mm

@300mm You can see the filaments in the bulbs.

at 75mm it is definitely good enough to resolve sensor specs (those darn oil slinging Nikons...)

great floodlights - I think the little bit of color inside each reflector makes the image. I assume that's from the field below and not something in the bulbs?

Thanks Scott. Here's one of the other side. I'm a sucker for light trails Traffic and the garishly neon-lit river cruise boats make it interesting... I hope

Arg! I can't see those on my home monitor... I will have to fix them at work (where I can see them). You are correct, the color you see is reflected from the field, far below. The lights are 100 feet off the ground I believe.

Like I mentioned over in the MF thread, I got less than encouraging news about my back/neck and will be selling off my kit. Since you all are my friends, I want to offer it up here first. With a couple exceptions that I will keep for my Nikkormat, everything is available.

Kevin, just a hint: the first campus-shot is leaning a bit to the left. I like the floodlights, btw ;-)

Ray, nice zombie-less set from the Zombie-festival ;-)

Chin, very cool city-shot!

Scott, the light on your architectural-shot is excellent. The walking men are perfectly placed. Hats off, great work!
