One from this evening, shot with the V1 and 200/2 VR across the venue:

Handball-goalkeeper (our team lost the match) - Nikon 1 V1+ AF-S 200/2 VR1 at f/2.8, 1/640sec, ISO1600, cropped just a bit
The V1 is pretty good with Chubby, especially in rather contrasty light. The completely lack of LoCa's is still a amazing to me. The only lens I have used that is equally good in this matter is the Apo-Telyt 180/3.4.
Would love to use a 400/2.8 or 500/4 for very tight shots, but apart from the high pricetag those lenses are just too large to handle in a tight spot (have to change between long-lens and a shorter-lens-camera every 30seconds or so).

And it's super rare in the US. Much more common in Germany. In fact, there's Jürgen Clauss who rebuilds the finest Alpines:

Thanks for sharing this link, Peter. I really like the A110's shape.

Happy New Year AF Team. Reviving the thread with a shot I did in 2014 but processed again over the holidays.
Taken using the 12-24 F4 AF DX lens on D600.

Ram, that looks so "warm" compared to the world outside my window. Did you shoot the camera in DX mode, or does the image circle at one end of the zoom range cover the full FX sensor?

Freshly processed shot from September with the rental dream team gear

D810 with 400mm f/2.8 and 1.4x TC, plus quite a liberal crop. Usually I shoot at least 600mm at that location, but the D810 resolution makes up for the shorter lens. Processed twice, once as color, once as B&W and then blended on luminance levels. Really like the control over shadow detail you get that way without turning the image into some sort of pseudo HDR glow look

Thanks. I am freezing cold myself in the northeast so I added all the warmth that I could to this photo taken at Everglades when I used to live in Miami. I had shot it at 24mm.
The 12-24 DX when used on a full frame is extremely usable from 18mm onwards. At 18mm you do get vignetting in corners but they become better (fixed easily in post process)
See example at 18mm.

Still love the color from my Nikon D200. Here are two with the Nikon Micro 40 2.8 DX
These are Portulaca, bloom is about an inch in diameter.

400mm f/2.8 handheld pan at ISO 64 on D810. The AF actually locked on the driver's helmet here - passenger side is slightly out of focus

This thread needs a boost to the first page again... I don't have many images captured with an AF lens but I did find one... taken with the 85 f/1.4 AF-D, a lens I'll likely never sell... the "Cream Machine..."

Very nice Ram. Love the colors in the sky. I'm also a big fan of graphic elements. For the fun of it I might have cropped this a second time, narrow to focus on the train cars... So many creative choices we have to make in post...

Thanks Curtis. I may have a day shot with me that would work with the trains. I will try that out.
