Lloyd Chambers seem to love the GR very much (see his recent blog posts, not so much for the EOS-M though ) So FlyPenFly, have you gotten the GR yet?

Awesome images AbramG.

So how good is corner sharpness with that 21mm adapter.

Thanks!

It's pretty good, I'd say as least good if not better than my Canon 20mm f/2.8. I don't think it's up to Zeiss Distagon standards, nor would I expect it to be.

I have more samples with it that I'll be posting. I shot some 1300 images on my trip with just the GR, and a 1000 or so with my X-Pro 1.

FlypenFly I did a rather boring in terms of image subject test image sequence here to find the optimum aperture for the 21mm adapter. There are no corrections applied whatsover and the chromatic aberration does disappear very easily in Lightroom. Click on the "original size" if you like to pixel peep

Super sharp and 3D rendering on the shot below (without 21mm)

Quick question that I could not get out of the manual - (how) can I set the Auto-High ISO to start at ISO 100? What I'd like to get to is that the camera uses ISO 100 as the default, opens the aperture when light gets low, and only increases ISO when the exposure time gets longer than 1/125 sec.

At this time the camera uses ISO 400 as the default ISO, and Auto High increases from there.

Thanks!

Do you have continuous mode or dynamic range correction mode on? If so the auto hi ISO will start with elevated ISO as base.

I got a second GR the other week, I am that impressed by it. The 21mm just arrived and the store owner is a friend and made me a package deal I couldn't resist. He had two GR's left so I snatched one of them. Love it.

The 21mm is quite good. I am not sure I would use it for super critical work but it does really well for docu/work and images like the samples earlier in the thread. Now I am glad I got it since I was juggling the thought of a dedicated super wide angle camera (Fuji X +12mm/14mm) but the thought of adding yet another quality camera for mostly work documentary stuff seemed stupid and the 21mm adapter work well for interiors. F 5.6 seems to be the sweet spot. For the 21mm I settle for using the rear LCD as I would not like to add more bulk to a small package.

Agreed. I was a happy camper today in rainy Iceland, shooting away with my GR surrounded by folks with tripods and DSLRs.

This is today near Gullfoss, Iceland. 1/125 @ 4.5, ISO 100. LR5 before Silver Efex Pro 2.

Damn. I want this camera.

Sell my RX1 for it plus cash? I think the increased DOF going from FF to APS-C will only help my shooting. No shallow DOF trickery, just 100% composition.

IMO the little GR is a much better camera than RX1. The latter is rather a benchmark than a camera for photographer. For 35mm I expect to see proper DOF scale or function like snap focus - and RX1 lacks both of them.
