Helena, one of your nicest shots recently. Minimalistic and moody.
Ulff, also very nice. As usual (I admire your work at 1x). Thanks for the compliment. The plane is real. I only altered it's direction. I wanted it to come exactly from a corner.

I had a very surreal experience out on Lake Michigan last weekend. Fog rolled in at dawn, the wind died down, and the lake was completely calm and whited out. It stayed this way until the afternoon.

Thanks, Jochen! Your image is the first of its kind I saw with a real plane in it, that makes it even better! I also saw your forest image on 1x a few days ago, very impressive!

The overpower smell of frying donuts when walking by breaks down all inhibitions and lures you into Rocket Donuts, home of the sugar-laced, cholesterol-infused, heart-attack-inducing treat. ...drool...

Tom, wonder if we went to the same county fair... is that a blue maran?

Here is one from my local county fair from two nights ago at the petting zoo.

Are you guys using a custom profile to get such nice color ?

The GR is a bit muted by default. I personally tend to do about 95% b&w as the camera have such lovely tonality, but it would be nice to have a good color option as well.

LR5/ACR stock profiles don't have much pop.

Certainly can tweak things a bit to get there, but if there are some better profiles, like there are for the Sony's, I'd be interested in buying one

Since I'm not a guy I guess this wasn't meant for me , but..:

There are "Huelight profiles" available for GR ($10) but I don't find them as helpful as the ones for Sony. I agree that the colors are somewhat muted, but think that they generally are natural and easy to work with (there are times when GR messes up completely, but I find Sony's colors even harder). When it gets it wrong it seems relatively consistent so I have post processed a few different types of photos until I was happy with them and then saved the post processing as presets in Lightroom. That saves a lot of time for me.

I agree on the muted colors out of the box. I see it as a result from the extended dynamic range - I see the same effect on my fullframe DSLRs. It's not necessarily a disadvantage - it gives you perhaps more leeway to cook the image according to your own recipe and taste.

This one was from yesterday in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Overcast, humid day. I peppered the bland image with saturation, clarity and contrast to taste.

Indeed, save your own presets and you should be good to go, without requiring expensive pre-cooked presets.

PS: The graffiti notwithstanding this is not an ad for Topaz
