Hello Guys, I'm a little new here but I wanted to share my Ricoh GR mini site. I'm very familiar with the GR and I've written extensively on it here: http://ledesmaphotography.com/new-ricoh-gr-review/.

jorgeledesma - love your reviews they really helped me deciding at the time - Ricoh should pay you a commission!

deadwolfbones - WOW amazing pictures captured so well.

A few images re-processed with the Replichrome presets and Lightroom

Despite using the Leica M a lot with good lenses I still believe that the Ricoh lens is outstanding and nothing comes close to it in the 28mm equiv focal length.

My Ricoh GR is away for a repair at the moment, I got a sticky shutter button :-( can't wait to get the camera back!

Great images showing up here on the GR thread. One from me on a great cloudy day.

beetlephoto and Kosmoskatten, thank you too for the sympathy. I will get a new camera after all! What a relief, I wouldn't be able to trust the old one again after all this. The few shots I managed to take before it stopped working again (and the photos in this thread of course!) reminded me of why I liked it so much. beetlephoto, yes I do still have RX1 and it's fantastic , but I don't like it for all kind of subjects, so I feel that GR is a great companion for it.

deadwolfbones, love your set from Utah! Must have been a great trip/hike.
nicoimages, really like yours too, esp. the first and last.

Thanks, Helena! It was a pretty exhausting hike in not the best weather, but of course I had a great time anyway.

Yes, as long as the weather isn't really awful it's great to be out. (For photography awful weather can be good though. )

(Looks like I'll get the new camera tomorrow already. Yay.)

Here's a shot I just published in my blog this afternoon, its titled "Closing Time". I've tried them all and there is nothing like the GR.

So I'm curious, how many folks are having problems with their GR? I've not had any issues, and I've been less than genoe with mine, but I also don't want to jinx myself either. I was dismayed to learn that US Repair support is provided by CRIS, I have only had negative experiences with them.

No issues on mine whatsoever. No dust that I can see, either.

I'm using mine for almost 6 months now and no problems at all so far.

Only sensor dust that I can somewhat easily remove in post.

The posts about defect GRs makes me a bit nervous about mine... but I luckily had no issues so far.

Yeah I'm just curious because mine has been solid from day one and I've recommended the camera to plenty of personal friends and they've all bought the camera as well.

I was surprised to read some of you were having issues, which prompted my question.

Inspired by Ulff, but not in his class of course:

My new GR seems to work just fine! Not a single freeze so far and no dust spot either, that I have noticed anyway.

After have worked with Fuji for a few months I must say that it often takes more effort to get the GR colors to where I want them, but overall I like them.
(Obviously I'm not talking about these two highly processed shots, but landscapes and things like that.)

Good to hear that you finally have a functioning GR again, Helena! It's a nearly perfect little camera for architecture (with an even wider lens it would be perfect for me). The horizontal and vertical level is one of my favorite features.

Regarding the colors: I agree, especially in landscapes I have to put much more effort in post processing to get the colors in a direction that look natural to me. I haven't yet figured out a standardized correction, but it would be nice to have one...

Thank you! Like you say GR is great for anything urban and sharpness and details are impressive in almost all situations. Some of the sharpest files I have ever experienced.

I wish there were some color profiles to download that would help. Sometimes colors are absolutely spot on (better even than my Fuji), but in certain situations that you would think would be easy it messes up and then it can be hard to correct. I especially struggle with what it does with blue skies and skin tones on a bright day, and also when you shoot against the sun.
