What settings are you guys using to get those great B&W photos?
I don't think that there is a specific recipe for GR files. However, everyone has his (hers?) own style... I would suggest to just tweak with B&W settings. I use Silver Efex Pro 2, but I am sure that other plugins or other recipes in Photoshop, Lightroom or other processors work just as well.
In my transition from film to digital, I always found that digital lacked midtone contrast - or brilliance. This is nowadays less of an issue with the various contrast, structure and clarity sliders that are available. And I feel that the GR DNG files provide great latitude to toy with.
I like for example to beef up contrast in Silver Efex, only to decrease the dynamic contrast slider, with a tad of 'structure'. But again - seeing is believing - this is hard to instruct, just give it a try.
