I use version 7 but on 64 bit. Prior to that I used version 6 on 32 bit. Currently running on dual boot on my pc. Yes, Phase One Capture 7 does have better handling on noise reduction, in fact really, really great. You'll notice this when pushing or using hi-iso (1600+) files - they will still look like iso 100 or 200. Highlights on version 7 is better too, I see more detail where there is none on v6 and less or no blooming on highlights. More detail on shadows too - more presence, that's how I see it. Colours are wonderfully rendered too. Advance mask is greatly improved especially that I use my Wacom Intuos 4 on it frequently. With the same settings on v6, v7 is a worthwhile upgrade. NX2 and Lightroom can't catch up with image quality offered by Phase One 6 or 7.
Not sure what monitor calibrator your using but on 64 bit it will be tricky for older hardware. I still use my Monaco Xrite Pro with the DPT94 puck and use Vista x64 drivers on Win 7 x64 and runs really well - even my Monaco software ported fine on x64. Cheers.
