p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Sling strap with a Third party Grip??

So I have a Carry Speed Sling strap that I'm loving with my 6D. Now I'm in the market for a battery grip, and I'm tempted to go with a Third-party brand because the cost savings is very substantial.

Has anyone had any success/problems with this set up? Is there a Third Party brand that anyone would recommend that can bear the upside-down weight of the camera, lens and flash and the pressure on the 1/4 20 screw?

Or should I just bit the bullet and go with the Canon grip?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Same question here... Very valid concern.

I am using a third-party grip on my D800 and a Nikon hand strap. No problems. The threads are 1/4 inch, but they are stainless steel, so strength is not a worry.

I'm worried more about the SB900 flash deforming the flash mount.

Well a hand strap is different from a sling strap isn't it? 100% of the weight is not swinging from the 1/4 20 screw. (Unless I'm thinking of a different strap)

If you are afraid of it, go with the Canon and spend the money.

No issues with my 3rd party grip at all.
