Anyone consider that he may have used two different sized jars? Or he shot this from 300 feet away with a 400 mm lens?

Todd has it right.

This is 100% a T/S shot. Simple swing of the lens to angle the plane of focus - you can follow the plane from the first jar, to the next, to the background and you'll see that it follows a straight line going back into the frame, albeit at a slight angle - which the T/S mechanism allows you to do.

Rent one from Vistek or the like if you want to experiment or see how it works.

This looks like a signature tilt-shift shot. No compositing of multiple images needed.

This is textbook Tilt-shift. I don't see what the debate is about.

It could be done with focus stacking and masking in photoshop.

45TS, the beauty of that lens is that you can make things appear in the focal plane that appear to be not on the same plane. The jars are actually inline with the strip of in focus mountain. I do believe the image has been cropped.

I've done his workshop.... He spoke of this wedding and that shot is a tilt shift image with the canon 45mm TS-E...

yep, 45 tilt for sure. NOT a composite. This technique is actually why I bought that lens.

Tilt shift or freelensing...AKA broken lens.
