yesterday I had a wedding with really nice people, but it rained the whole day. All the nice ideas I had in mind for wideangle shots with the sun in the picture obviously didnīt happen.

It was they first time I used Nikon D600s, and the just did great. So light, it was a pleasure.

The White Balance for quite a few of the 'getting ready' shots and the barn portrait with the umbrella is on the warm side, was that your intention?

I like the low angle on the outside shot with the couple walking under the umbrella. I'd be interested to see a darker sky on that one, are you able to recover any cloud detail?

I also like the double-exposure effect with the bride and yellow flowers, and I like the movement in the dancing shots.

thanks for your comments,

had problems with the white-balance as it is mixed lightning from bulbs and window/flash (no gel). In the barn it was worse, pulling Kelvins down make it looks worse. In my presets I have dialed in a bit of orange plus, which worked fine in the past for nicem healthy skin-tones. Maybe that is too much here, try to make it without.

I like the non-smoking sign in conjunction with the piece of red banner on the right. Makes it less cheesy I feel. But maybe it just distracts...

Thanks. Good to see how the D600 behaves in a real-life environment.

They look excellent. How did you get the lights blurred with the people in focus on the last few shots? low shutter? I didn't know you could get that effect w/out moving lights. I also have a D600. If you could explain what shutter speed and settings you used I would greatly appreciate it.

Ok, first the why (0:
because I wanted cool pics...

now the how:

28 mm, set to 5.6 - 8.0, fix focus at about 2 meters
off camera flash SB 910 in hand, TTL, adjust flash comp as necessary, warm gel
set white balance manually (in these shots very red ambient)
ISO between 200 and 800, depends on ambient and shutter speed
shutter at 1/8 up to 2 seconds, depends on ambient, ISO and motion of the subject

+ 2 flashes, manually, on light-stands opposite of the room, fired by PW, not used in these shots

itīs quite easy, just try
