Anyone happen to know what these beasts are? They vary quite a bit in size. This guy's body is about 1.25"-1.5" long. Location is Northern California. They look like they could bit the heck out of you if they wanted!
Thanks guys. That was enough info to get me Googling. Looks like it might be an asian long-horned beetle (Anoplophora glabripennis), which doesn't seem to be the best critter to have around.
