I like the simple composition. I like the gold RR tracks. I am not sure I like the mottled blue background. I did not try the adjustment but I suspect I would prefer this with the blue color removed entirely.

Thanks guys,

I played with the blue quite a bit to find something more pleasing to me, but really didn't come up with much. Of course, the blue is the white rock reflecting diffuse indirect cool blue sky, and the rails reflecting direct warm sunlight.

In many instances I strive to offset/neutralize the blue, because I've never seen a "blue snowball". Neither have I seen blue rocks by the RR tracks, but here I found the warm vs. cool separation of intrigue. Ironically, I originally envisioned the shot in B&W, but haven't managed to pull it off quite to my liking just yet.

Thanks guys ... I may have to revisit this one a few times to get my head on straight about the the blue in the color version, and something about the B&W just isn't getting it for me in the rocks/ties. I think it's because I've not decided on the point/message/role I want for the rocks/ties @ high/low/medium contrast/weighting.

Maybe if I get the "What's the point" question answered better, then it'll come to me at what direction (color v.s. B&W to take this one. In the meantime, play away, if you like.
