Congratulations to Ballistics for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 11 votes - View Previous Winners

Wish I would have had more than 25 minutes with this gentleman to perfect this shoot.
But it is what it is. Never did anything like this, as I'm usually in the studio. Nice to take a
step out of my comfort zone.

Thank you. Nothing special, I had his daughter pace him @ around 30mph while I shot from the passenger seat and back seat. 1/30th of a second @ f/8 50mm.

Cool. I figured it had something to do with pacing, I thought you may have been in a truck bed or something. Thanks for sharing the information, and again, I love both shots.

Love both of them. Great motion and you can feel the wind flowing.

Not sure what you could've done to perfect No. 1. Background is better than No. 2, and light is on his face better. This is exactly the way this shot is supposed to be done, in my vision anyway. Very, very nicely done! But I am curious what you think could have been better.

It's really cool to see someone a 'part of their machine' and this is man and machine harmony at its best

I like the overall look of dark darks and chrome and silver, sweet bike.
Now I am no expert but I think the term 'chopped' is for extended front forks and raked back bars, these bars are commonly called 'ape hangers'

Wonderful shot in such a short time to work with it.

I'm a pixel peeper of sorts, and the draw back of a slow shutter speed to capture the movement is that it was difficult to get the rider tack sharp. That's what I would try to perfect if I ever did it again. Maybe increase the shutter speed a 1/2 a stop to prevent the camera shake.

THanks Karl I know nothing about bikes at all, I think I may have misunderstood his explanation of chopped.

Dope. I love how he's just chillin', cruising along. I know you're bothered a bit by him not being tack sharp, but I think it looks darn good. I say don't sweat it, if you can get it this good!
