Amazing price on these cards, but the 128GB version is too slow (and a few sketchy reports on Amazon). Sending mine back.
(Some claim that their 64GB versions are faster and might cut it though.)

They don't even work in some Nikon bodies. Did you get the 600x or 1000x card? Don't buy them whatever size or speed they have

1000x

Yeah I guess I won't even bother trying the 64GB then.

What brand other than Komputerbay would have a writing like this on their own cards
"**NOT COMPATIBLE WITH NIKON D800 Camera (See Note Below). IMPORTANT NOTE: The Nikon D800 Camera's firmware currently only supports 128GB Compact Flash Cards manufactured by Sandisk or Lexar.

Why would anyone even think that Komputerbay was a good idea It's amazing that in many of the Amazon reviews people used those funky brand cards for professional purposes.

I considered it. Shooting raw is so~ memory intensive and I don't have the money to get a bunch of Lexar 1000x 128GB cards at $650. a pop. $180. for the same size card is affordable, especially if you have to buy a lot of them. FWIW, Philip Bloom owns some and shoots em as does the EOSHD guy. Sure, they most likely aren't going to be near as stable as Lexar or Sandisk but at less than a third of the price it is a reasonable purchase for shooters on a budget. Now, for critical paid work I don't think I'd risk shooting it all on KomputerBay cards but YMMV. I own a bunch of Transcend cards and I think they are a reasonable deal.

That's just a stupid comparison. Why compare it against the fastest and most expensive card there is? You can buy Transcend 400x cards for the same price as the Komputerbay card cost. And Lexar 400x or 800x cards only cost a little bit more. Those 3 cards are also better than the Komputerbay card.

Wow... how about a little tact there. If you didn't notice, I did mention the Transcend cards. No need to be a jerk about it.

Lexar 400x cards wouldn't work for raw recording to the 5D3 anyway which is the point of this post. The 800x cards at 60/MB write speed is still slow for the bitrates that raw recording will require dependent on whether you're filming 1080p or higher. This post is about using cards for recording raw to the 5D3 with the Magic Lantern hack. NONE of the cards you mentioned will work for shooting fullHD raw with the possible exception of the 800x which is borderline. Hence the Komputerbay 1000x cards being mentioned. Read the OP's post THEN respond with an intelligent reply before calling my comparison "stupid".

Both the Lexar 400x and 800x cards are faster than the Komputerbay card. Do you really belive it's a 1000x card in speed and that it can be compared with the Lexar 1000x when it comes to speed
The OP in this thread is sending his Komputerbay 1000x card back because it's too slow. And I have seen hundreds of reports, tests and reviews saying exactly the same...

Just a quick note: Andrew from EosHD is using the 64G version of Komputerbay, and he states RAW recording with 5DIII is working. on 128G it didnt... and according to https://twitter.com/Dustbrand Komputerbay and Lexxar have the same manufacturer ...

The Komputerbay 1000x 128GB version is definitely too slow for 5D3 ML RAW 1920x1080x24. It only gives like 70MB/s when you need a card that gives a solid 84MB/s for that. It kept crapping out after just a few seconds and was useless.

According to somebody on Twitter You can't even find a homepage or website for their cards. And what manufacturer they have nobody here knows. If they have the same as Lexar it would be strange. Why do all the Lexar cards work in Nikon bodies? But not the Komputerbay cards?
Stay away from that brand. A transcend 1000x card cost about 50-60% of the Lexar 1000x and works good

I looked at your link and he didn't say that. This is what he wrote:

"@EOSHD he cut open LEXAR media and KomputerBay right in front of me and showed me the exact same components.

The specs are also very different on the Lexar 1000x card
