Near the highway summit- and a few hundred yards from the road.
When I started thinking about grizzlies at Glacier NP- I took a quick pic and scooted back to my truck.
My hike was done .
Thanks Ratty and Trilce.
Funny, but when I was younger I was hiking in Yosemite's high country- alone- and a black bear decided it wanted the peanut butter and jam sandwich I was eating. Like hell! I yelled, waved my arms and threw pine cones at it- chasing it away. What an idiot! Me, not the bear.
Years later I took this pic in Glacier. Well, grizzlies are DIFFERENT than black bears, and I was older, wiser, and cowardly about grizzlies. Especially considering all the "encounters" I'd read about- in Glacier.
