I like nr 2 with cleaner BG. you shot with 300/2.8? opening the lens, you may make the BG of nr1 less busy. My 2c.

Thanks, Bob.

I used the 300mm 2.8 but with a 1.4 extender. That made it pretty close to wide open at f/5.0.

the second pic was shot at f4.5. I think you could open to f4. I have 400mm f2.8, quite often I shot at 560mm f4 (+tc1.4)
