This tree swallows seems to be taking an artistic bow with her dazzling blue colors. This is my first post with the Canon 500 F4 I recently bought from FM'er IdahoBob ( great guy, great lens ! )

It is a little soft I thing or it is my I pad4? I thought this lens is one of canon's sharpest telephoto lenses!did you handheld it? The reason I am asking because I am looking for one to buy in near future.
Thanks.

nice one Tom..congrats on the new lens.. it does seem a little soft.. my 500mm, and my 600mm both seem to shoot best with the aperture closed a couple of stops.. and the SS in the 1000 to 2000 range

Tom,

The folks on this forum will give great advice on how to get the most out of your equipment and also with post processing. The other pics you sent me were fine. Understand that this swallow was more of a "performer". Keep posting.

On my iMac at home the pic is sharp but when I uploaded it does indeed look kinda soft. Not sure why, but also I dont have much experience posting pics on these forums. How do you retain the sharpness of your image when you upload onto these forums ? Thanks !

Looks sharp to me though the image is small. Great color and background. Enjoy the lens
