These are from my continuing quest to take a head shot of a tree swallow. I got close enough yet had to back up to focus.
Notes to self for the next time:
- Try using a tube and the TC at the same time
- Take off the better beamer as I can’t power down the flash enough
These were taken at the Oceanside Marine Nature Study Area on Sunday. I was a stunning day and there were a lot of people out on the trails. When they saw my laying on my belly on one of the bridges with the tree swallow incredibly close, everyone politely waited for me to finish. I was so intense on what I was doing I had no idea the traffic jam I’d created. They all got a kick out of it and asked how I got so close. I told them I’m a very good stalker. I described my technique and others tried. Then did not get as close though some got close enough for some very fine photos.
Comments and suggestions welcome,
Morris
