Let's say for instance that you wanted to record something for about 20 minutes, switch off, and record for another 20 minutes... what would you prepare yourself with as far as SD cards? I have two 16gb lexars in place but something tells me I'll be needing more...
TIA
(I know I can just as easily record something for 5 minutes and do the math, but was hoping someone had a quick past experience).
you can get an external hdmi recorder and shoot uncompressed to external drive. Internally recorded video is pretty low quality, as it is pretty highly compressed. If you're serious about using these cameras for video, you don't record to SD.

Not that serious, haha. Thanks for the responses everyone . I do still photography professionally and will absolutely dedicate my setup towards that. I've just been asked to record theater performances with the asking parties knowing full well I'm a still guy.
Can D600s record 20 minutes+ consecutively? And without melting?
FWIW, I ran 4 back-to-back 20 minute shots out on my porch the other day trying to catch some footage of the red bellied woodpecker who has started visiting. Nothing melted.

Nikon cuts it off at 20 minutes.
