There is an area on the back side of Banff National Park that used to be part of the Park. It is a provincial land use area that is dedicated to equestrian and hiking. Parks Canada winters their horses in this area. Many generations ago, horses escaped from captivity and ever since there has been wild horses in the area. The area is also where a very large number of elk winter because it has less snow pack and grass to eat. And as a result there are also wolves.
Any way, I went there to check out the opportunities for pictures. There were lots of elk but my best shots were of the wild horses.
Comments and feedback is appreciated.
