Hi,

First post on FM.
Shot with an Hasselblad Xpan with Velvia 50 last year in Lower Antelope Canyon.
Hope you will enjoy.
Advices and comments are always welcome :-)

Hey Geoff,

Welcome to FM Landscape. This is a very nice composition you have here. My only thought is the yellow/orange towards the top of the shot is very weak looking compared to the intensity of the magenta colors on the sides. Maybe just me, but I would like it a bit more pumped up in the orange/yellow.

Jim

Hey Geoff, as a fellow xpan shooter, and having shot in the canyon with the hassy in a similar light situation, I'd go so far as to say it's slightly over exposed. It's so tricky shooting down there with all the different light levels. I would have exposed for the bright top area, then Velvia would have sorted the rest of the image...it's got a lot of latitude for the shadows.

Not to hijack, but my take, exposing more for the bright area and leaving the shadows -
Lower Antelope

I love the composition though!

Thanks all for your comments, much appreciated.
I agree for the orange / yellow part and Mark, for the exposition, I think I'll do a rescan of the film to see..
But I'm glad to have your thought on one of my picture :-)

Like the composition but something is not right with contrast and colors. Highlights need to be tamed down, also too much magenta and cyan (or not enough yellow, as Jim says). Was it saved in a correct color space (sRGB)?
