Thanks Lazlo, Tom, Bob, Ray and Chris.
Between hours spent behind the steering wheels of cross-country tour buses... and driving my own cars, it's been more than 1,000,000 miles. There's only one way to see what's over the next hill, and that's to go there . And driving a million miles is faster than walking it.
Gear? Oh, my. For starters... film cameras, using Kodachrome slide film for about 90% of my pics. Except for wildlife shooting (where I used a 400mm lens), I used two old Canon bodies (an A-1 and an AE-1 Program). One had a 24mm to 70mm zoom; the other a 70mm to 210mm zoom (both were Vivitar Series 1 lenses).
I often used a tripod, but not all the time.
I always metered manually (through the lens), and never hooked up a motor drive.
Note- all the gear still works fine.
