I like it, build quality is far beyond any Sigma i've seen before.
I also have a ton of shots of my 6month old daughter and it's a great lens for close-in fun portraits.
The drawing style at mid apertures is very nice, and certainly has some 3d quality to it.
The stopped down performance at distance shows great detail.
I really really wished I had my Zeiss 35/2 for the woodland shots though as the Zeiss does seem to have a bit more DOF (as seen in some of my 35mm lens tests a while back).
Wow, mine is nothing like that!!!!! I have done many test shots under different conditions and none are sharp but my Nikon glass is. I am debating if I should send to Sigma where they will calibrate to my D3s but I am worried if I try to use on other bodies. I am thinking of just returning it as nothing is sharp and very soft, focus points sem to be way off too. I so wanted this lens to work and will pick up another and hope it is fine. I can return to Adorama and get another. I know things happen but not happy considering the price.
Philber....
Thank you! My copy is wicked sharp, even wide open! I MF it most of the time, and AF when I really need to...it sometimes seems off a touch, but I haven't actually say down and MA it yet.
These are all quite old photos( several months ago)...nothing recent as I have just had surgery for the second time on my left thumb!! Can barely hold the camera at the moment!!
I will go thru my library and post more, too!
Thanks again,
Gregg
