My Canon Mark IV was sent in for servicing after I dropped it. In the past, I've had excellent service from the Canon Virginia Repair Service. However, I had to send it in three times before it was serviced correctly.
After I dropped it, the camera's AF worked perfectly and exposure was right on, but the diopter would not focus.
The camera was returned within a week at a tune of $362. The AF was off, it was not front or back focusing, it just was off a tad. Hymmmmmm, it focused perfectly even after it was dropped. Also, when holding the eye piece some 10 inches away, I could see a blemish when held up to the light.
I returned it the second time, and upon its return, the AF worked perfectly, but the blemish was still seen inside the eyepiece. The eyepiece had originally been replaced the first time that it was sent in.
I returned it for the third time, and finally, the blemish was removed and the AF seemed to work perfectly.
Robins were used to test the unit out.
