This young eagle was concentrating just about as hard as I was trying to learn my new equipment.

Bob;
How do you like the new 600 II ? Is that handheld or tripod? Either way it's a great shot . Let me know your impressions on the new lens as compared to the 500 version 1. We both made the same transition and I'm trying to get as much feedback as I can. ( share ideas and experiences etc.)

Al,

I'm probably a little "too" new to give advice. This was a tripod shot. I'm still learning hand held techique. I did not use the 500 hand held that often, so hard to compare for me. Others can probably weigh in better. Thanks for your comment on the picture. Lighting was difficult and it came out better than anticipated.

Thanks Justin and thanks again for steering me to the site. A lot of waiting around. Seems like the parents must be giving the kids hunting/fishing lessons. Long periods when the whole crew were away.

Bob; I was thinking more in terms of your impressions of the 600 Ii as compared to the 500. Personally, I've been hand-holding with a lot of success. Even with BIF.

Thanks

Al,

I like the extra reach. It does great with the 1.4 X III. Seems to fill the void left by selling my 800. Time will tell if I regret selling the 500. It is such a good lens.
