How often do you all send your lenses in for factory calibration?

Only when something is wrong and I didn't experienced any problems that I couldn't fix with fine-tuning.
When I shot Canon I sent all my lenses and cameras in once a year.

Well, I shoot with a D800 as well and saw the DOT fine tune post by Snapsy. I attempted this and am experiencing front focusing issues (it seems) with all of my lenses. Some are so high that I cannot set a mid-point focus as I am at +18 to +20.

Have you tried this technique? I waited until after the firmware updates on both lens data and body.

I also have the Lenscal by Data Color. Should I just go back to using that?

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

I use LensAlign with my shorter lens and DOT fine tune with my long lenses.

Just got LensAlign and their recently released FocusTune software. The software makes the whole process even easier. If you haven't used the software take a look at. It averages multiple exposures taken at multiple micro adjustment settings, ie, +5, +10, +15, +20 etc.

Anyone have any idea how much distance a +1 or a -1 micro adjustment translates to?

I love the way the term "overpriced" is so "overused" by an "over abundance" of individuals
