Great light! it's nice how the converging lines direct your eyes to the sand texture and the mountains in the back.

Lovely... A real departure from the typical & ubiquitous dune images.

Very nice. Maybe a little heavy on the sharpening?

Hi Jon. Thanks.. I usually add sharpening and if I do not see any halos anywhere on a 100% blown up image I am usually ok with where it is at. Does not appear oversharp on the screen nor as a 12x18 print..

Thanks Wayne, Fred, Dan, Sunny, Jim, Bob, and anyone else I might have left off the list here. This was one of those trips I had for wildflowers in Death Valley in April one year recently, but the flowers were not that great so we ended up at the dunes for sunset for the two days there.

I think I got better dune shots from these two days then I have had before. Normally, I am out there in the winter months, but I think April works quite nicely along with the cooperative clouds that moved in during the afternoon..

Desert Rat,
In my dozens of trips to those dunes, I've never seen those kinds of wind ripples on such a steep slope. Amazing good fortune with that.
Plus, you found an exceptional perspective and got everything right from then on.
A really enjoyable and superior photograph.
I wish your signature were on the bottom instead of the skyline, but I accept that you chose to do it that way- and it's your pic .
