Awesome perspective Charlie. Really top notch. I found the monasteries in Kamakura to be the most beautiful anywhere I have been. Really wonderful place to visit.

I agree- along with the whole city of Kyoto, weeks could be spent just walking around in the monasteries and temple grounds.
It is a magnificent little town.

Kyoto is the most interesting city in Japan, in my opinion. A great mix of the past and present.
