Not viewable on an iPad...a bit ironic.

isn't it though?

it's cool

it's hip

it is yet another battery powered device

its way outta bounds in price (apple factor).

i'll live w/o it and stick with my $5 USB cable (yes I can go out as far as 15ft), smart shooter ($50), surface pro in addition to it working with multiple cameras (at the same time)

another RF (wireless) option also a wee bit on the high side):

but them again how many really sell in the long run

I have CamRanger and really like it. We have taken it with us on trips and with my iPhone remotely taken our photo at the Roman Forum, the Colosseum among other places. Much more than 15 feet and no cables to stretch across where people walk required.

I like it!

Yes, there are cheaper, though more cumbersome, ways to achieve the same result but, for my money, there is nothing better than true portability and wireless. Another device with a battery? That's a problem. A minor inconvenience, I say.
The Hyperdrive iusbport also sounds good.

Got the CamRanger today and it does as advertised and in my opinion, for what it's worth, does an excellent job.

Just got the cam ranger and it's pretty amazing that Nikon does not offer something like this, they are missing out on some revenue and some great PR for sure. Folks will always pay a premium for the name brand.

This is the solution I was looking for for PAP; I was considering buying a different camera just for that purpose but now I don't have to.

Anyone have suggestions for where to get the shortest possible USB cable for a D800 connection? My tethering cable I bought for laptop connection and it's 16' long. So far I don't see anything under 6 feet.

^Brilliant - I'd forgotten it came with one since I use card readers. Now I have to find the darned thing, it's not in the original box.

I did find the jerkstopper included with the D800 while looking though - didn't remember that being included either. Double brilliant
