An old copper-mining town, turned tourist destination.
Along the road between Sedona and Prescott.

So Charlie, is this totally uninhabited? Looks like a fairly large town to be totally deserted. Do you know what the large brick-looking building on the hill was?

I love this town - it was the first place I saw a bar with a sign that said "all guns must be checked at the door." In the late 80's it was largely deserted but some artists were moving in. I understand its fairly lively now. Nice shooting Charlie.

Thanks Douglas, Gad, Steven and SRudy.
Early 20th century copper mining town.
The big building was either a school or hospital, I believe.
SRudy has the time line right.
When I lived there the artists were still coming in and tourism was really getting started. I understand both have increased since.
The sign "All guns must be checked at the door" was applicable when I lived there. Arizona law permitted the carrying of handguns as long as they were visible. One guy who carried a gun all the time was deaf. You never wanted to surprise him from behind.
