p.1 #1 · D600 and D800 high ISO in dark setting samples?

Anybody have high ISO samples in dark settings such as a kids recital or a wedding without flash/strobe usage using for the D600 and D800?

Just found this link on this site here. http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/nikon-d600/nikon-d600GALLERY.HTM

The D600 looks like a solid performer up to 6400.

I'd like to see more inside dark shots though to see really how the D600 performs. The D800 also.

IMO underexposed areas of high-iso d800 shots are very noisy unless you scale down the image and/or print small (which I do not). You might also get amplifier noise in some areas if you try to boost the dark areas too much.

At low iso, underexposed areas can be recovered by several stops with relatively little noise because the DR of the camera at low iso is huge.

The limiting factor is the shutter speed that you can use. Even high iso is ok if the shutter speed can be slow enough to avoid underexposure.
