I had posted a version of this before, but it was cropped to focus on the snowboarder. As I was reviewing the all of the very helpful CC I received, I noticed people really liked the color contrast with the goggles, the snow and the ski. Then I realized I had taken one that combine what it seems everyone's favorite parts of my various pictures were. Snow trail, crisp colors, peek action.
I'm just really jacked about this photo because normally I shoot for action. I shoot and look later. This is honestly the first photo where before I shot I looked around and the area, looked for my background, looked for a clean shot. Found an angle that I thought would capture any possible cool jumps. I hunkered down in the snow and after about 1/2 an hour this fella made this jump. He was so stoked about the photo he walked back up the mountain (twice) to jump just for me doing a 360.
I was proud of the fact that I had read a lot about how difficult shooting in the snow is. Then I feel like after preparing for the shot, working with the gear, and being patient I was paid off. Well, he never did buy the photo, () but I was still pleased with the end results.
So, please take this in all sincerity, thank you sports forum for making me a better photographer. Now, bring on Spring!!!!
