Lovely scene of an area out in the valley that deserves more photography - even though Rowell did it so many years ago and so effectively.
I'm viewing in Safari on a calibrated monitor and I'm the group who feels that the the saturation is a bit more than necessary. To me it looks like the red channel is blowing on the brightest areas around the snow fields on the Sierra peaks, and the blue of the snow seems a bit too blue as well, a side effect of the saturation or vibrance setting I think.
I suppose saturation is a matter of taste and, as they say, "some like it hot." For me, this is such a lovely place and lovely time of day that I'd rather see something a bit more true to the actual scene.
I have a crop idea, too, if you are open to such things. To my eye, the far left side of the frame isn't adding much and it holds a few things that might detract a bit from the image - the darker area in the stream-side foliage near the very bottom left corner and the bit of relatively snowless ridge at the left and the little snippet of cut off ridge ascending into the left margin. It would be interesting to see how it would look if you moved toward a 4:3 crop by removing from the left just enough to eliminate that little dark area in the grass at lower left.
Wonderful place to explore and shoot - keep it up!

Dan,
Thnk you very much for the suggestions. As for the saturation I agree with you. It might be too strong and I will try to tone it down. I also like your cropping suggestion. I will give it a try.
