Hello to all FM members. This is my first thread here on FM so let me introduce myself.
I'm a enthusiast amateur photographer from Holland. I shoot all kinds of stuff.
I use a Nikon D700, with a preference for older MF an AF-D lenses. And a Fuji X100 and X20, fun cameras!
Also a Panasonic LX3, an older but still ok compact camera with a great 24 mm lens which I like to shoot at 24 mm in 16:9 format.
I started this thread to share user experiences and images from the new Fuji X20.
My X20 arrived last week. I own a X100, definitely a "first generation" camera, with well know quirks but great image quality. The X20 is the successor to another "first generation" camera, the X10. The X20 feels and handles mature, typical second generation. I haven't shot with the X10 so I can't compare the X20 vs the X10.
From the images I've shot (and processed from RAW with Lightroom 4.4) so far the image quality of the X20 is ok. Dynamic range and color are great. The lens is very nice, not pin sharp but in typical Fuji way with a pleasant overall rendering. Noise I expected and hoped to be better. Even at iso 100 noise and detail smearing is visible, when pixel peeping that is. Don't expect high iso miracles from this camera, it's not the compact equivalent of the X-Pro1 and X-E1.
