p.1 #1 · D7.1k Joystick/multi directional button

I am having an issue and wanted to know if anyone else sees this.

After shooting, on the occasion I want to check focus, I have my settings to go to medium magnification when I press the OK button (center of the multidirectional). That works, but when I tried to pan by holding down the edge of the multidirectional button, it stops after one move.

Is this a bug... or just my camera?

Thanks Trench. I wondered if it might be this lens I thought I would try (Sigma 17-70)?

Just popped the nikon back on there and all is well !?

Guess this is a no go then. Looked good from reviews, but my copy, while sharp in the center (very), is mushy at the edges. Even stopped down to f9+ it is not good.

Back it goes.

EDIT: reason to send it backů how F9 looks...

David , for general photography and landscape nothing beats Nikon's 16-85 VR not even two zeiss primes I had. I will no exchange it, not even for Nikon' s fabulous 17-50 f 2.8.

Thanks for that tjny,

I wanted the macro on this lens, but it seems to make the D7.1k funky and the IQ on the edges is awful.

Nikon 16-85 vr has magnification ratio of 1:4.6 and a Killer VR.
A hand held shot here, don't like carrying tripods

f 16 at 1 second!

I beg to differ I believe the sigma 17-70 f2.8-4 outshines the pack. both the newer and its previous version.

this is with the previous version which I have been using since I got my D7000:

My Results very similar to Davids. I aslo tested the Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 VR and got very similar results. The 17-70 was sharper in center, but much in corners, The 17-50 was OK in center and marginal in corners.

I wound up deciding to use Nikon 18-35G and 24-84VR as a combo. They are light and very sharp out to the corners on D7100 both being FX lenses
