About 100 miles from Anchorage to the port town of Seward.
One hundred miles of the most beautiful sightseeing you can imagine.

I like the overall concept of the image.

The image might be a little stronger had you clicked the shutter earlier and the front of the train, and particularly the "Alaska" lettering was in the light.

You picked a great spot to shoot from however and I like the reflection in the lake of the mountains.

Thanks, Chris.
I picked the spot and waited for the scheduled once-a-day train from Anchorage to Seward.
Then, when it finally got to me, I was a split-second too slow with my trigger finger .
Unfortunately, the shadows weren't so apparent in real life .

This is sweet Charlie. In your next life when you shoot digital you can burst and get all of Alaska in the sun :-}

Thanks.
Morris is referring to the fact that this image was taken with old equipment using film.
Fifteen years ago there WERE no digital cameras worth dodo.
Morris knows both of those considerations, and is teasing me about it .

Nice one Charlie... Love taking photos in Alaska except that I always worry about bears and wolves that it impairs my artistic ability to compose and shoot on my own. I salute you on your everyday journey.

Lynn... Go north, turn left .

I also am deathly afraid of grizzlies, to the extent that- while in Alaska looking for pictures to take- I always wore brown trousers in case I saw one. Plus a change of brown trousers in case the griz saw ME .
I figure it like this: it's not paranoia if someone IS following you.
