Hi,

I just get bored by the "just touch a bit" PP. What do you think about this? Is this over the edge? Bad executed? Out of date?

Your C&C is much appreciated - donīt hold back. (o:

thanks, heiko

The huge halos kinda almost give it a damaged Daguerreotype look... but fall too short of that look to be appealing.

I would keep working on it.

This doesn't work at all for me. Looks like a really bad preset.

Yeah, the grain and lack of contrast in the foreground cause my eye to actually go to the curtains first. Looks a lot like too much shadow recovery in the foreground, especially the dark dress

The work at that link reminds me of a photog I was looking at recently, Mark Tucker. He does what's called "tintypes". I believe it would be considered large format. There is no negative. The photographic emulsion is spread onto a plate of tin metal, exposed, and then the tin plate is developed.

Check out some of Tucker's tintypes at:

http://www.marktucker.com/Wet-Plate-Collodion/thumbs/

They look very old but they're not. That's the work he's doing now.

(No shadow recovery, just bad PP I guess)

Hey, at least you get your picture on the top of the forum page for a while like you always do.

Does a good one help you in any way here?

No, not of something I can think of. Anyway, I donīt even know how it gets there. Is it random? Is it picked?

So when thinking about it I does not quite understand what you mean by your post :
"Hey, at least you get your picture on the top of the forum page for a while like you always do."

I post photos to get C&C, get help, get better with time. Find my way as a photographer. I am not posting them to get it shown up there. Just for clarification.

Ah, one more thing. I always wondered why your website is hidden. Any special reason? Would like to see your work.

Oh, I know you don't post to get your pictures up top. I didn't mean anything by my statement. You seem very sincere in posting to get feedback in order to improve your work.

I suppose some people might like to have their photo "featured" at the top for all to see.
