Nikon just released firmware upgrades for the Nikon D600, D800, D800E, D3, D3X, D3S, D4, D3200 and D7000 DSLR cameras.

The new upgrades add compatibility for the new Nikon 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR lens, include new features and fix many bugs.

Loaded it, tested and the first thing i noticed was the LCD colors. No more greenish tint!

I'm rather stumped by this improvement:

"Images are sharper and appear more three dimensional" That's quite a claim, I'm interested do see if anyone notices a difference.

I wonder if this will fix my D4 from not being as sharp as my D7000 or D3? Or will this improve the capability sharpness of the D4?

Now I know why the 800 f/5.6 wasn't working with my D800. Glad its fixed. Now I just need to fix my other problem, of not having one.

I just did it but can't say if its sharper till I test it out properly. It's 2315!
Initially thoughts are that it looks promising.

One thing though is that it takes a while to update - probably longest firmware update to date.

I did the update and went out a shot a few and I can honestly say that the images appear to be more sharper at least with my body (D4). Its not a huge difference but it is definitely noticeable. I didn't however, notice any difference with regard to the continuous servo autofocus mode though.
