A proper, usable VF, a 24mm equivalent wide end perhaps not having to use macro mode all the time and it would be almost perfect (for me)

Canon, do you hear? It wouldn't be that difficult, right?

Happy shooting,
Yakim.

I've bought and carried gear until my feet hurt. Now I travel with one camera,
a 35 summilux and a 75 summicron. My several film and digital SLRs remain
buried in camera bags at the back of the closet and I've thuroughly decided that
if the image can't be captured with what I have, I wasn't meant to shoot it.

I went the rangefinder route. Small shoulder bag, one body, two lenses. After awhile, I put some serious cash into it: M9, summicron 28, and summilux 50. I use my dSLR now only w/ a couple TS-Es and some sports work that's waned a lot. I may sell most of the dSLR work soon. It's so fun to take a small, light bag everywhere. Simple, no gear drag, just shoot with what I have.

FF body 35L

I've been enjoying walking with my 6D with 35 f2 attached and 135mm on my hip in a lowe case. I keep a 12mm extension in my pocket for macro. One body (6 oz lighter than my 7D), two primes.

I usually have my 35L with a 135L on a second body and it seems to work well. Although I am also considering on at getting a wider angle i.e a Zeiss 21mm but I haven't decided on it yet.

Minimalist for me is the 5D III, 24-70/2.8 II or 24-105, and 70-200/4 IS or 70-300L IS.

Thinking I will get one of the new SL1s, that and my 50 1.4 or possibly the 40 pancake will be my minimalist kit when I don't want to haul the 5d2, and all of my lenses around.

A bit long for a one lens option on crop?

I certainly wouldn't pick those as my only lens. A 35mm f2 maybe or even a 28 2.8, but 40mm or 50mm would be miles too long for me on a crop camera.
