We stopped in Iceland for a couple of days on our way to other European countries, never having been there. We rented a car, and drove around as much as the weather would allow (cold and VERY windy).
These scenes seemed to me to be quite evocative of what we saw generally of that starkly beautiful country.
1. We had never seen an aurora before, so we went out aurora hunting the first night (fairly clear skies, but poor aurora forecast). Our optimism was rewarded, with an aurora that spread from horizon to horizon. This was the best shot I got.
2. Iceland has a lot of mountains. And a lot of prairie. So a shot (or two) with grassland and mountains seemed in order.
3. This isolated farm, with its red roofs, asked for a shot. So I indulged it.
